How we hold and process your information
Wavehill have been appointed by the Pen y Cymoedd Community Interest Company (CIC) to carry out an independent evaluation of the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund. The evaluation is looking at how well the Fund has been managed and what difference the funding is making in the local area.
We would like hear from organisations who have applied for a grant from the Fund, to gather feedback on what your project has achieved to date and how you’re evaluating the outcomes of your activities.
We will use the information you provide to write a report for Pen y Cymoedd, which will independently evaluate the way in which the Fund is being managed and what the funding is achieving. This is an ongoing evaluation with reports being produced on an annual basis. This interview will contribute to a report which is scheduled to be written in July 2024.
Your details have been gathered from the information you provided as part of your application to the Pen y Cymoedd Community Fund. Participation is however voluntary; you can decide not to take part, or you can choose not to answer certain questions if you prefer.
The information you provide will only be used for the purposes of this evaluation. Comments that you make will be confidential and will not be attributed to you unless we have your express permission to do so.
Please note that, as this in an ongoing evaluation, the data that you provide will be kept for future reference. Wavehill will delete your contact information from our systems within three months of the end of the contract.

Why is this research happening?
The aim of the evaluation is to look at how well the Fund has been managed and what difference the funding is making in the local area.
We are looking to speak to organisations that applied for funding from the fund to obtain feedback on the application process and, if funding was received, what that project has achieved.
What type of information is collected through the survey?
The interview focuses on your experience of the application process and the support / funding available through the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund and how you have been using the funds.
What is personal data?
Personal data means any information that could lead to a person being identified either alone or in combination with other widely-available information, e.g. their name, their address, or details specific to that person.
How long will personal data be kept for?
Wavehill will hold personal data during the contract period but will delete it within three months of the end of the contract.
What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected through the survey?
The evaluation of the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund enables Pen y Cymoedd CIC to understand whether the Fund is working effectively. It is therefore used to support activities within Pen y Cymoedd CIC’s public task. That is, the core role and functions of Pen y Cymoedd CIC. For example, the information collected might be used:
To decide whether changes need to be made to the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund
To decide whether Funds like the Pen y Cymoedd should continue in the future
To understand the best ways to support organisations in the local area.
What is the purpose of processing your answers to the interview?
The data is used for research and evaluation purposes only. The data will be analysed to enable Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund to understand the impact and effectiveness of the Fund. This will help to decide whether any changes need to be made to Fund and how support for organisations should develop in the future. The data will not be used for commercial or marketing purposes and it will not be used to take make decisions about you as an individual or your organisation.
Who has access to the personal data collected through the interview?
Wavehill will have a copy of the personal data to allow it to carry out the survey and will capture telephone number and email during this survey.
Wavehill will delete all personal data within three months of the end of the contract. Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund will not have access to personal data collected through the interviews.
