The Welsh Government has published our latest research focused on the Farm Business Grant. The grant is a scheme that provides financial support to farmers in Wales. It has been designed to encourage farmers to adopt sustainable practices and technologies that can help them increase their profitability while also reducing their impact on the environment. It has enabled farmers to make the investments needed to improve their productive and environmental performance.
As part of the research, we engaged over 800 farms across Wales. This included speaking to farmers about their experiences, what they thought of the support they received, and to better understand the impact of the grants received. Our research provides valuable insights into the experiences and views of Welsh farmers, including how capital support schemes are designed and accessed.
As a thank you to the farmers for their participation in the study, we have made a £1,620 donation to the Daniel Picton-Jones Foundation. The charity provides a range of mental health support to farming communities across Wales.
