Carer Money Matters Evaluation Privacy Notice

How we hold and process your information

Wavehill are undertaking an evaluation on behalf of Carers Trust. The information gathered is used to help Carers Trust to find out more about how The Carer Money Matters programme works and the impact it has on carers. This research is being carried out to ensure that we understand how well the programme works for carers and to ensure that the programme is the best it can be.


People taking part in the research  have been chosen because they have either delivered or received Carer Money Matters support. Participation in the research is voluntary. You can decide to not take part before or during the interview and can choose to not answer certain questions if you prefer.

 

Any personal information collected as part of the research is kept confidential. Your answers to the interviews and survey will not be made public in a way that could lead to you or your household being identified. The information is only used for research purposes. Please note that there will be a series of case studies developed as part of this research where individuals may be identifiable. Please note that case studies will only be disseminated where individuals have given explicit consent for the information to be shared.

 

Wavehill keep all personal information confidential. However, if researchers determine that an individual’s health, safety, or well-being is at risk, Wavehill staff will report the concern to Wavehill’s safeguarding officer. They will also notify a designated safeguarding lead at Carers Trust and/or the safeguarding lead at the network partner organisation that provided support to the individual.

 

Your personal data is deleted within 6 months of research completion.  Your answers to the survey are linked anonymously to other data sources for non-commercial research purposes only, unless you ask for this linkage to not take place. The anonymised data is held securely and is only ever used for non-commercial research purposes. We do not share or use your information for commercial or marketing purposes.

Under the new data protection legislation, you have the right:

  • To access your personal data held by Carers Trust.

  • To require Carers Trust to correct any mistakes in that data.

  • To (in certain circumstances) object to or restrict processing.

  • For (in certain circumstances) your data to be ‘erased’.

What is the Carer Money Matters evaluation?

Wavehill, an independent research organisation, has been asked to find out more about how The Carer Money Matters programme works and the impact it has on carers. This research is being carried out to ensure that we understand how well the programme works for carers and to ensure that the programme is the best it can be.

 

What type of information is collected through the Carer Money Matters Survey?

Within the research, we are looking to explore how carers feel about the programme and the support they received through it. The survey covers a wide range of topics. These include:

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Demographic profile information

  • The type of support accessed

  • Individuals’ views on the support

  • Individuals’ views on the impact and benefit of the support

 

What is personal data?

Personal data means any information that could lead to a person being identified either alone or in combination with other widely-available information, e.g. their name, their address, or details specific to that person.


The survey collects some personal data for all respondents such as name, surname, address, age, and gender.

 

How long will personal data be kept?

Personal data will be stored 6 months after the evaluation has been completed and will then be deleted.


What is the legal basis for collecting and processing the data collected?  

Public interest in the efficacy of the project and its impact on carers.

 

What is the purpose of processing your answers?

The data is used to inform the wider evaluation of Carer Money Matters. By taking part, you will be helping Carers Trust to better understand the impact of its programme.


Who has access to the personal data collected through the survey?

Only required researchers and administrative staff within Wavehill will have to personal data collected through the survey and interviews.
