Evaluating Targeted Support for West Yorkshire’s Creative Industries
Wavehill and Counterculture are working collaboratively with West Yorkshire Combined Authority and delivery partners to evaluate the You Can Make It Here programme – a £2.3 million multi-strand initiative supporting creative freelancers, microbusinesses, and underrepresented groups across the region. The programme comprises six individual projects, each designed to strengthen capability and inclusion in West Yorkshire’s creative industries.
Our approach
• Collaborative set-up: Working closely with delivery partners to align project objectives, develop clear outcome measures, and ensure robust data collection.
• Evaluation framework: Structured framework covers project-level and programme-wide evaluation, with bespoke monitoring tools to track engagement, skills development, and access to opportunity across all strands.
• Monitoring systems: Supporting the establishment of practical monitoring systems, enabling partners to capture meaningful data, participant feedback, and early outcomes.
• Stakeholder engagement: Integrating regular consultations with partners and beneficiaries, ensuring the experience and voice of diverse participants are reflected.
• Programme-wide synthesis: Insights from each project-level evaluation, we are conducting, will be brought together for a comprehensive assessment, shaping future programme design and regional investment.
